[Dixielandjazz] San Diego at Thanksgiving

You are wise in trying to find a motel within walking distance, because
parking is at a premium, or simply unavailable, at the Town & Country for 
people not staying there.  About four or five motels on
the south side of the freeway are close enough that you can walk.  You would
walk east along Hotel Circle S and cross the freeway to the north via an 
underpass.  The T & C is
immediately on your right as you leave the underpass and start walking west.

I have stayed at the
Days Inn Hotel Circle (543 Hotel Circle S according to the AAA Tour Book)
and had no trouble walking.   I think that I remember the Best Western Seven
Seas (411 Hotel Circle S, according to the AAA Tour Book) as being even a
bit closer.  There are several others that look satisfactory from the
outside but are not listed in the AAA Tour Book.

I seem to recall that the festival had a shuttle that made the circuit of
Hotel Circle, going west on Hotel Circle N to an overpass, then east on
Hotel Circle S.  If you can't find anything within walking distance, I
suggest that you check with the festival to see if they will be running the
shuttle.
