the groups that hires us for Swing Dances. Sent to their members. These kids
are into some of the history of OKOM. Wish more were.

Late News From Philly Lindy Love - June 2006 Program Notes

Special guest trumpeter Ralph Clemson will be joining the Barbone Street
Jazz Band for the opening night dance at The Arch, on the campus of the
University of Pennsylvania. Ralph is about Frankie Manning's age. When he
was a teenager in 1938, Benny Goodman asked him to join his band but Ralph's
mother would not let him go. If you missed Frankie Manning in Philly 2 weeks
ago or Clark Terry in NYC a week ago, be sure not to miss Ralph Clemson. Ask
him about the swing dancing of the 1930's.
