Listmates,
Speaking of percussion, Mason Williams (remember him?) wrote a song in which
one of the verses went:
"knock, bang, beep beep, flick,
boom, chucky-yucky-yuck, whirr, tick-tick,
boing, buzz, honk-a, ding-ding,
rump-bump, rick-rack, ring-a-ling-a-ling!"
The preceding is an example of a linguistic formation known as
"onomatopoeia" (look it up).

ps - Theoretically, one could provide rhythm for dancers merely by speaking.
I don't want to get into the phenomenon of RAP music but . . .
