Here are a couple of views about "Dixieland".
1) What do you suppose they know in Hagerstown MD that we don't? :-) VBG
2) Hey you folks in Oxford UK, leave Dixieland out of it, unless the
"Dixieland Boys" have day gigs in the highway department. :-) VBG

Bay Street Brassworks hails from Baltimore by TIFFANY ARNOLD
A performance tonight by the Bay Street Brassworks kicks off part two of the
four-part Hagerstown Community Concert Association series.
The Baltimore-based brass quintet will do a range of jazz, Dixieland and
classical music at The Maryland Theatre. The group features a trombone,
French horn, tuba and two trumpets. Showtime is 7:30. Individual tickets
cost $20. . . . (snip to)
Changing the subscription format and booking performers such as Bay Street
Brassworks is an attempt to broaden the concert series' core audience, which
Fillingham described as "the older generation."
"These guys are great," she said. "They appeal to a broad audience. People
out there who like Dixieland jazz."
AND THE FOLLOWING LETTER TO THE EDITOR OF THE OXFORD MAIL MUST HAVE BEEN
WRITTEN BY A UK OKOM FAN.
Another dose of traffic mayhem (Oxford Mail)
Just when one thought that the roadworks in Abingdon were complete, further
works are announced. It is enough to drive anyone mad.
It appears that the Dixieland boys of the county highways department are
preparing to entertain drivers and traders for another 'jam session' in
Abingdon in the coming year.
Jill Carver, president of the Chamber of Commerce, says "there will be some
disruption," which must go down as the understatement of the year. . . . .
Who is responsible for this madness? Who will face the music if costs go
over budget?
