I'm an Anita O'Day admirer, too. In fact, after seeing her perform around
1950 in a Chicago jazz club, I was smitten. Apart from being a very good
singer, with a very well developed swing/jazz vocal technique, she was one
beguiling young lady. I'm saddened by her passing, particularly after
reflecting on the difficult life she led.
Cheers.
