[Dixielandjazz] 2007 anniversaries

As a huge Gene Autry fan, I can attest to the fact that he did play guitar,
although in his movies and TV shows he just kind of faked (not too
convincingly) that he was playing, mostly moving one finger back and forth
between a couple of strings. However, there is an album out of some of
Gene's early recordings in which he played guitar and sang much in the style
of Jimmie Rodgers.

BTW (FWIW) Autry's movies can be seen on Wednesdays and Sundays and his TV
shows on weekdays on the Encore Westerns channel.

Just found some more - Hayes Alvis, Karl Kress, Abram Lincoln (trombone) -
and Gene Autry who - in case you are too young to remember - played guitar -
or appeared to.
