OK you guys:  Here is a Top of the line Crusie LIne looking for an 8 
piece band with Female singers too.

Seems like they are attempting to modernize a bit,  but maybe they 
would take a really Hot HOT DIXIELAND BAND,  WORTH A SHOT, FOR SOMEBODY 
IF INTERESTED.   WON'T KNOW IF YOU DON'T ASK :))

   STILETTO ENTERTAINMENT WILL BE HOLDING AUDITIONS FOR CRUISE SHIP 
SHOWBAND MUSICIANS, AND FEMALE SINGERS FOR HOLLAND AMERICA CRUISELINE, 
IN OUR LOS ANGELES OFFICE ON
  D E C E M B E R 2 ND

   Holland America Lines’ fleet consists of 14 large luxury ships 
sailing to destinations all over the globe, such as Alaska, Australia, 
Asia, Europe, South America, Africa, and the Caribbean. Recently HAL 
undertook a revamping of its on-board live entertainment to include 
8-piece cover-type bands fronted by female vocalists. Instrumentation 
consists of:

  € Keys 1 (primary piano parts, typically the music director)
  € Keys 2 (covering strings, horns, and pads)
  € Guitar
  € Bass
  € Drums
  € Tenor sax (alto and flute doubles a plus)
  € Percussion and/or steel drums
  € Female vocalist (pop/rock/jazz style preferred)

   Musicians serve in two capacities; one is the Show Band, which plays 
arrangements of well-known pop/rock, jazz, Motown and Latin tunes on 
deck and in a night club setting. They also play in production shows 
(these vary from ship to ship) and serve as a backing band for guest 
entertainers. These different roles provide a variety of challenges for 
musicians. At times reading and grace under pressure come into play, 
while other times it’s just about grooving and making the party happen.

   YOU MUST BE AN ON THE SPOT SIGHT READER. Most cases with only 1 
rehearsal.

   Contract lengths were recently shortened to a 3-month minimum, making 
it possible for undergraduates to play on a HAL ship for a summer or an 
academic quarter without adversely affecting their studies.
