Hey, Bob;
I have all 7 recordings on a French CD "Rare Louis Armstrong" on the Jazz
Anthology label 550182. The recording date is given as October, 1934. Also
on this CD is a 1938 session with Fats Waller, Jack Teagarden, Bud Freeman,
Al Casey and George Wettling.
The 1934 tunes are:
St. Louis Blues (2 takes)
Super Tiger Rag
Will You, Won't You Be My Baby
On The Sunny Side Of The Street (Part 1)
On The Sunny Side Of The Street (Part 2)

Subject: [Dixielandjazz] Louis Armstrong in Paris 1934
In October, 1934 (Oct. 1st?) Louis recorded seven sides in Paris (matrices
1478 - 1484). Matrix 1478 was issued on German Brunswick, whereas the
remainder were issued on French Brunswick, Polyphon, and Vox.
These are listed on the Red Hot Jazz Archive, but the music isn't available.
Have they been re-issued on LP or CD, and are they worth the effort of
trying to get hold of them?
Any information will be gratefully received, and, if they're not available,
a "research" copy (either MP3 as an E-mail attachment or a snail-mail CD)
would be very nice in exchange for a CD (or some MP3's) from me.
Regards
Bob Smith
