I was wondering if the guys that were using photoscore successfully on the list if you could let me know what scanner you are using. Below is a summary of the problems I'm having with it. I am scanning mint condition printed music, nothing old, torn or bad copy's.

I'm still having trouble scanning anything into Sibelius with photoscore 4.
It puts in all sorts of weird stuff, strange clefs. leaves out bar lines.
It takes me longer to correct than it takes to input the music in the first
place.
I'm wondering if It's my scanner. While it's fairly new, it is a cheapie.
It's a cannon 50. I got it to use with my laptop when I travel because it
uses just the usb and I don't have to use a power cube with it. Also it's
very thin as scanners go.
A friend of mine uses a HP large bed scanner and he says he gets good
results but his scanner is old and they don't make that one any more. He
uses his to scan in scores of shows and band and orchestra scores. He does
a lot of arranging and doesn't have the latest version of anything. I think
he's using version 3
I suspect that the barline problem could be something in the vertical scan
capability of my scanner. I really don't want to buy another scanner but I
will so what do you use?
The Scans look good and appear OK after it's scanned but when it reads it's junk.
Yes and by the way it ignores slashes but puts in bar lines of whatever
number or fraction of beats that it happens to think is cute at the minute
and is very hard to correct. It puts odd number of beats into the music
too. I have had it move whole lines two beats into the next measure. I
find that almost impossible to correct.
On the bright side I'm getting fast at inputting charts.
