Hello again,

I thought Rob's message was well put. I was surprised to get to the end and
read that he is leaving too. I hope he was kidding.

I don't know about anyone else, but for me this list has been a gold mine of
information for some 7 years now, maybe more. Among other things, I travel a
lot, and I always check with the list before I go anywhere to see who I
might find lurking along my route, what events, shows, jamming opportunities
or just plain meeting a friendly face in a strange place. And I nearly
always find one or more listmates who are happy to get together when I'm in
their neck of the woods. Likewise, I might still be the only one on the list
from Israel, but I have had many occasions to greet listmates who make the
pilgrimage. We've done everything from jamming, to doing shows together, to
touring Jerusalem together. All loads of fun and most worthwhile. If that
were the only thing the DJML gave me, it would be worth it. But there is so
much more. Words and chords and lead sheets for songs I want to learn. Music
History lessons, in some cases from people who were there. Advice about
learning and teaching instruments. And on and on.

Everyone who leaves the list takes valuable resources away from the rest of
us, and I dare say, from yourselves as well. My request would be for all of
you to stay on. I mean, aren't you going to wonder what the next controversy
will be that will cause the next wave of people to leave the list? You gotta
stick it out just for the laughs.

Now in case anyone disagrees with me, I'm leaving, too. Nah, just kidding.
Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Before you send me hate mail, I'm leaving as well.

All the best,
