I finally got my copy of Ed Metz's and the Bob Cats brand new CD, "Prayin'
Humble, Payin' Tribute.

Woo Wee!!! listened to it twice before writing this. It is EXTRAORDINARY.

The recording fidelity is superb and . . . well, wait a minute, if I
describe it all, this will be about six pages. Especially since one of my
favorite clarinet players, Paul Hubbell, is on it. To save time, let me
just quote most of the last paragraph of the liner notes.

"The musicians on this recording are among the world's finest purveyors of
Chicago style jazz. The are capable of both reading and improvising, and
doing it very well. They are meticulous in their delivery and demanding in
their requirements for high quality. We hope that you enjoy the fruits of
their labor, the planning for which began exactly 70 years to the date that
the Bob Crosby Orchestra first appeared on the US jazz scene."

Hype? Nope, if anything it is understated. This CD is 5 stars and then some.
It is destined to become one of the finest (if not the finest) releases of
OKOM in 2006. Whether or not you are a Bob Cat fan, or simply an OKOM fan,
it is a "must have".

Congratulations Ed, and Bob Cats, for an excellent CD. For information about
purchasing it, or about the Bob Cats, contact Ed Metz at:

Cheers,
Steve Barbone
