[Dixielandjazz] My "limb" broke!

Listmates,
I give up! Evidence here shows it was indeed a
valve trombone that Frank Orchard made those
dixieland records with. Now I want to search my
library and see if I still have any of the recordings.
I want to listen again. It may have only been a "senior
moment " that caused me to "remember Orchard on
slide". Reminds me of the guy who had "flashbacks
to things that never happened." lol
But as to JJ: I NEVER thought he was playing valve
trombone. Now there is a possible subject for discussion:
"WHAT SLIDE TROMBONISTS EVER SOUNDED LIKE VALVE TROMBONISTS? Right off the top of my
head I would aver that Cutty Cutshall often had a "valvish sound, and i loved it. Ian MacDougall sounds valvish on
his cd "The Warmth of the Horn" but for all I know he did switch horns on that recording. I can't seem to think of any more right now, maybe later.
