   Yes I've heard tommy turk...you played a couple of tracks of him for me when I visited you.......But the fastest slide player I ever heard is Andy Martin.     Yes, he's alive and still playing.  I saw him at a mainstream(gasp!) jazz festival in Calif two years ago.  He's dazzling!

As a trombonist I find this thread concerning J.J., Kid Ory, Bob Brookmeyer, Frank Rosolino and Curtis Fuller quite interesting.
Has anyone on this list ever heard of a little known trombonist named Tommy Turk ? He played somewhere between a Trad and bebop style, if that makes any sense, and did a recording with Charlie Parker in the early 50's, or perhaps late 40's, that is remarkable.
