Babelfish translation of a review of the film:

In love with Rio de Janeiro, his ciels, his rates/rhythms and his
inhabitants, the Finnish scenario writer Mika Kaurismäki continues
his exploration of the Brazilian musical heart while going up with
the source. After Moro No Brasil (2002), Brasileirinho gives to see
and understand some current Masters of the choro. The national rate/
rhythm par excellence was born, at the XIX century end, of the
meeting between afro-Brazilian measurements, the European dances and
the Indian melancholy. It is at the origin of a music of virtuosos
which says at the same time sadness and the joy by letting the
interpreters fly away in their improvisations until the derrubada,
the moment of the solitary escape for the soloist. Brasileirinho also
lets slip by in background of very beautiful images of Rio Its
original band (MK2 Music) is naturally a wonder. (S.L.) *** 3 stars

sounds like jazz to me!

is Tito Martino still on this list? He had a lot to say about
Brazilian jazz history in the last few years - what does he have to
say about Choro?
