There is a counter-tenor whom I have heard perform in the St. Louis area a
couple of times--outstanding voice. This NPR site & interview is well worth a
listen. A baritone-speaking voice with four octave singing range disallowed
to compete as a soprano by Texas Music Educators Assoc. Stay tuned on the
sound clip for "The Lion Sleeps Tonight".

(BTW, there was a lot of talk about a "counter-tenor" or "male
soprano" in opera/vocal music circles a few years ago - even a story
on 60 Minutes!)
