Jazz fans get a hit of the real McCoy
Legend Tyner has soul to spare

After a week during which Dixieland, funk, crooning and reggae-rock
dominated the Ottawa International Jazz Festival's main stage, Confederation
Park was blessed with the real McCoy last night. McCoy Tyner, to be exact.
With him at the piano, leading an all-star septet,

"the festival finally had a bonafide legend on its outdoor stage". (EMPHASIS
MINE)

Tyner, 67, made his name four decades ago when he was barely in his 20s --
not only because he was John Coltrane's keyboard accompanist, but also
because he developed a way of playing that revolutionized jazz piano.
