Yes, it was probably George Formby on his banjo uke in the 30s. His father, George Formby Snr also did some recordings as a Vaudeville style comedian. Ukele Ike (Cliff Edwards) was later the voice of Jiminy Cricket. Both inspired a host of singer-entertainers.
