I answered Bob's query (with details) this morning (about 9 hours ago).
Perhaps you didn't notice it if you are a 'DJML Digest' person.
The connection to Ray Stevens could come from a 'careless' reading of Google
entries linking "Mr Custer", Larry Verne and Ray Stevens, both on
compilation CDs of various artists.
