Another unheard of, but important jazz figure in the classic Fillmore (not rock) era was Earl Watkins, drummer extraordinaire, who worked with Kid Ory and Earl Hines among others. Earl is as good a drummer as I have ever worked with and a genuinely decent and kind hearted person. AW
