I think it was an Albert but by the time I thought about it the clip was off. I found the movie on Amazon so I sent for it. My VCR (or I) malfunctioned unfortunately.

This morning I was surfing the TV (Turner Classic Movies) and came across "New Orleans" With Louis Armstrong, Woody Herman, Billie Holliday and a bunch of others.
Here in California, it was about 5:30 am. I woke up and couldn't get back to sleep and so caught the last 1/2 hour or so of the film. It was fun, but contrived as he said. Nice to see the different musicians though. Who was the clarinetist with the Albert system (couldn't see that well, but I think it was an Albert)?
Fun film to watch.
John
