[Dixielandjazz] The "Correct" song version

Steve,
It's always amazed me how many different "correct" versions of ANY song are
played, especially as I've moved around the country...
I used to play the first 4 chords (with the lead in) of "Rosetta" thusly,
(C7) F  C7+5 F D7

(Heard and played many variations of the above) 
Then I got used to the "Denver" way:

(C7) F E7 Eb7 D7

This last Tuesday in Montreal I was introduced to "another" way with the
Jazz Knights...

(C7) F C7+5 Cm/Eb D7

Music seems to go through inummerable evolutions as it travels around.
I think SOME songs are given up on because there are so many ways to play
them!  Try to get 7 guys to agree on what they're going to do with
Mississippi Mud (and that interlude)!!!

All I know is that it makes no difference ultimately what chords you play -
just so all the cats are playing the SAME CHORDS!!!  LOL
