I noticed Stan Brager and others extolling the virtues of CDBaby for
obtain or selling CD's. I think it was mentioned by Steve that it is
based in Oregon, and this would probably explain why the first person I
heard about it from was Rebecca Killgore who I believe is still based in
Portland. I believe she uses that site to sell her recordings? She
could also confirm if it is as reliable as it appears to be, for both
the musicians and the public.
That being said, the other night I was directed to the site for Stomp
Off Records for a recording I was looking for. Besides their own
listing, and pointing out that their supposedly "Out of Stock"
recordings as listed on other sites are still available on their site in
downloadable MP3 format, they also directed me to the site:

Has this site been mentioned before on DJML? Bob Ringwald was not sure,
but many sources are mentioned once and never repeated. It seems to be
a good source for mail order and the prices appear comparable to CDBaby.
They have many categories for OKOM and show both CD covers and
information on each disk from a variety of sources like Stompoff,
Arbors, etc. I have not ordered from them yet, but if someone on the
list is familiar with that site, they might tell us if it is reliable?
I think they also had a link for selling CD's but when I tried it with
my Netscape 7.2 browser, it was not a valid link. It might work with IE
or Netscape 8.0 which is most respects, except sound files, will emulate
I.E. I may try that yet, if I get desperate.
Carry on.
