Absolutely True Ed,

Sun Ra actually kidnapped him, had a secret skin transplant done on him 
and changed his name to  Al "Hassan" WARDLOW  who recorded with Sun Ra  
for many years before joining Saint Gabriel's Celestial Brass Band.
