LOOKIN’ FOR ANOTHER SWEETIE



Yesterday I heard, for the first time, a song called Lookin’ For My Sweetie, recorded by Fats Waller and His Buddies for Victor Dec. 18, 1929. The composers of the tune are listed as Chick Smith and Sterling Grant. The melody is almost exactly the melody of I’m Confessin That I Love You, music by Doc Daugherty& Ellis Reynolds,words by Al J. Neiburg which appears to have been copyrighted in 1930. I hope someone might have delved into the similarity before and might know anything about the two tunes. I have not been able to find any more about it.
