CAVEAT: Some list mates believe this is a boring topic. If you among those
bored with it, delete now.
For the rest:
There is a HUGE groundswell of interest among OKOM festival producers, "The
American Rag", many jazz societies, and many bands about regenerating a
young and/or larger audience for OKOM.
The was a major meeting held in January, at which many good suggestions were
made and much information was passed around. From interested parties all
over the USA who acknowledge that generally, our "festival" and "jazz
society" audience is shrinking every year.
IF you are among those who has contributions to make, and/or might be
interested in what you can do to gain audience, please contact Don Jones
<don at americanrag.com>, or contact Gary Sorenson <garysor at olypen.com>. They
are the primary forces behind the effort so far and have a circle of close
to 100 movers and shakers at Festivals and/or jazz societies involved.
Cheers,
Steve
