CRAB FEED FUNDRAISER for STJS
Sat., Jan. 27, 2007. All-you-can-eat dinner, auction, and jazz! $35, limited
seating.
Country Club Lanes (upstairs banquet room). Music provided by TNT (youth
band), Black
Tuesday, and Fulton Street Jazz Band.
Seeking volunteers to help with dinner. Donations needed for auction.
TJYBF (Feb. 10) pre-sales eligible for "Dinner-for-2" drawings
The Trad. Jazz Youth Band Festival (TJYBF) is coming soon -- Sat., Feb 10 at
Sac
State's Capistrano Hall. Purchasers of pre-sale, all-events passes who
return completed
ticket stubs will be entered into one of four drawings for a "Lobster Dinner
for
2." TJYBF tickets are $10 each. Drawings will be held at the Evening
Showcase Concert
on Feb. 10. Need not be present to win.
Tickets are being sold at the STJS office, by STJS board members, and by
TJYBF committee
members at the STJS "Rent Party" on Jan. 14. To order tickets, please

LIBRARY CONCERT SERIES
The theme for this year's Library Concert Series is "The Influence of Latin
Rhythms
on the Development of Jazz." This is a FREE concert series held at the Sac.
Central
Library - Tsakopoulos Galleria; 828 I St. (8th and I Streets):
Sun., March 18, from 1:30-3:30 p.m.: Frank French, pianist/composer
Sun., April 22, from 1:30-3:30 p.m.: Steve Homan Trio with Francesca Homan
Sun., May 20, from 1:30-3:30 p.m.: Sac State Latin Jazz Band
Wed., May 23, from 11:30-1:30 p.m.: Paco Gatsby from Guatemala
"PRELUDE to JUBILEE" Concert Series
This series of three concerts will be held in Old Sac at Waterfront Park
(think Riverfront Refuge) on Wednesday nights from 6-8:00 p.m.:

April 18th: John Cocuzzi & Friends (swing concert)
May 2nd: Mat Marucci / Doug Webb Trio.

Kansas City jazz. His big band, which included a young Charlie "Bird" Parker

Jimmy Witherspoon, made its first recording in 1941, and rivaled another
famous big

featured this pianist as part of a 2003 PBS series called "The Blues," was
directed
