[Dixielandjazz] 2 beat - 4 beat

Interesting thread. I've heard different opinions about ODJB's Margie. That
they played it in 2/4 and then again that they played it in 4/4.

The Red Hot Jazz Site has a clip of their 1920 version. (Scroll down to it).
Anyone care to opine if that is 2 beat or 4 beat? (Sbarbaro is playing wood
blocks)

Somewhere else I read that The Fox Trots, made popular by the Castle's were
4 beat. That was a popular dance from about 1914 on. Would that have
necessitated 4 beat music?
