[Dixielandjazz] Runaway trombone slide

Listmates:
  During college, I was playing a beer blast in a barn in Exton, PA when my trumpeter colleague and I decided to venture out on parallel rafters while playing. I'd say the players and my trombone were well lubricated.  The trumpeter had the advantage of being able to play with one hand, while I had to balance my teetering self without any support.
  Of course the slide fell off.  I looked down to see a pretty coed (I think her name was Mary Ellen McEnearney), handing it up to me.  As I reached for the slide, I lost my balance and wound up toppled atop her.  Quite a scene! She was the trumpeter's date, but somehow became mine that night.

one of the girls let go of the slide and it took off like a shot down the 
three levels of risers in the band room and slid across the floor. I guess 
it got a trip to the shop after that.
