[Dixielandjazz] Jazz as Communication and Jazz Audience

Some say jazz (or music) must be played to an audience.

Some say an audience doesn't matter.

Yet most seem to agree that Jazz (or music) is communication.

If then, there is no audience, with whom are the musicians communicating?

Hmmmm, communicating to yourself is no fun and sometimes they commit you to
an institution for doing it.

As for our band, the music is best when there is an audience, however small.
In fact, better in a small jazz club than in a large concert hall.
