Heck they call my group a Jazz band as do I but we have extended the
repertoire far beyond Traditional Jazz, >>

Understood Tom.
 Heck, we all gotta live.

Good luck on the gig.. I have been to NO 2 or 3 times. Never got to
Preservation Hall but most of the old guys I saw were living off the
reputation they once had, maybe, and were not going to stir themselves for a
load of tourists. The bands playing down Bourbon Street were another matter.
They were working, and had mouths to feed and playing great stuff.
Particularly a young trumpeter I remember, barely out of short pants and
blowing the socks off the oldtimers.

Being black and old and living in NO and having once stood next to the son
of a friend of Buddy Boldens in the line for the bus doesn`t mean you play
jazz.

Cheers

Pat
