Hey you guys in N. California here is a place worth checking out at
least once to see if it works for your band, you could very well; book
some good dates from it and sell some Cds if you have any, if you
don't you will probably not do very well at an event like this.

Now if you do score this situation try to negotiate with them to put
your photo in the local papers and promote your band like you are ELVIS
PRESLEY, which you will seem like in Pittsburg if you get the media
coverage. That is how you promote your band and get other gigs that
pay a lot better. Nobody knows you got $40.00 to show up there for a
couple of hours, sell a few cds and get enough tips to buy the band a
beer or two. write it off as advertising and promotion and realize
that you will be seen and heard by several other organizations in that
city that hie bands for other larger events with budgets like the
annual Sea food festival which hires about ten bands for two days. If
none of your approach them you can bet there will be NO OKOM or
Dixieland music there amongst all the rock and pop and Blues bands.
Your band could very well be the BEST ACT ON THE SHOW AND STEAL ALL THE
FUTURE GIGS FOR MONEY.

Beats mowing the lawn on Sat. morning huh? Besides you can start
drinking at noon right :))
cheers,

Tom Wiggins

 Hi,
I am looking for musicians to come and play at the Pittsburg Farmers'
Market. The market takes place on Saturday from 9am-1pm. I would be
able to pay a small amount and you would be able to collect tips and
also sell CD's of your own recordings. This is a great opportunity to
get some practice in, build a following and have fun.

this is in or around Pittsburg

Compensation: $40, plus tips, and CD sales
