   Nice to read your tribute to Jackie McLean,
Steve Barbone. I did not know him but two or
three of his recordings are among my jazz
favorites. I saw his quartet a few years back at
Yoshi's in Oakland. Glad I did. RIP, Jackie, I
hope you're blowin' with Miles and the rest in
Jazz Paradise. (An aside: It occurs to me that,
vis-a-vis Wynton Marsalis and other younger
players, bebop is now the old music ...)
