[Dixielandjazz] From the Band

<>Many may argue that this has no place on this list, but hey, I'm too 
stoked to worry about the rules.  When I was at UCLA, I played in the 
football marching band and the varsity pep band.  In both groups, I 
attended some outstanding sporting events with bird's eye view.  I gloat 
that UCLA will play for their 12th national BB title on Monday against FSU.

Anyway, the reason I bore all you non BB and non UCLA folk with this is 
that a band member of this year's pep band had a video camera at the 
UCLA / Gonzaga game.  Take a look at the game winning basket from the 
point of view of the band.  This is why I played in the band.  I 
remember well many an adrenaline enriched evening courtside.  This clip 
brings back fond memories of my university days.

As an aside, the cheer leaders are trained to jump in a certain fashion 
to look refined.  After the basket is made, watch the cheerleaders 
jumping any which way with legs going all over the place.  Their 
excitement made them forget completely how to jump 'dignified.'
