Thanks for the post Stan, and thanks to Nancie Beaven for bringing it up.
Because this is Arlen's centennial year, we've been doing a lot of his music
during our trio/quartet gigs at parties, private events etc. Usually we do
American Songbook but more Gershwin, Kern, McHugh, Rodgers, etc.

What a treat to get a word from the occasional music lover who recognizes
ARLEN. He is virtually unknown among the audiences, though his music is well
appreciated and it is wonderful to play. And as Mike Vax would say,
wonderful as a basis for "creative" jazz.
