Damn you Charlie:

Now who the Hell am I gonna argue with?

R.I.P. Charlie, we will miss you, and don't forget to give Beebe a hug
for me, it was a pleasure to have known you even if only for a short
time on the DJML.

Tom Wiggins

Thanks for the news Harold, sad as it is.

Subject: [Dixielandjazz] Charlie Hooks RIP

Sad to relate that Charlie Hooks succumbed to a heart attack this
morning.
Charlie was 76.

Charlie was a gem of a human being; a wonderful jazz clarinetist, an
educated, erudite scholar--a former college professor and a Ph.D.--a
thoughtful and kind man. I was very fortunate to have known him, and I
will miss his insigtful wit and always interesting correspondence that
we traded.

His visitation will be this Sunday at the Peterson Funeral Home at 6938
W. North Ave. in the Chicago area (possibly Oak Park).

Please remember him in your prayers.

Harold Smith
