[Dixielandjazz] Programme notes for a nice country hotel gig

Yes John, it is. Dangerous too! In Bangor I played behind a steel screen,  
rowdy audience would sometimes throw beer bottles at the band. And at a  Holiday 
Inn featuring a "Chicago" type band a disgruntled patron who had  been 
ordered out for drunkenness went up to the trumpet player and hit his horn  as hard 
as he could-while the guy was playing it-putting the guy permanently out  of 
the music business. I watched the whole thing.
 
And then there was the night my vocalist and I went to a club to just "have  
a few" and she ended up sitting on the piano singing torch songs while I  
accompanied her.. That was OK but she decided to remove a piece of clothing  after 
every song. We were physically removed from the place- she had  gotten down 
to some essentials-
 
ahh!  memories!!                           But a thick skin (or a steel 
screen) helps
