I've been following these comments about the various gigs and sometimes the
problems. Although I do the Greek music scene, it's all the same. You
either have to be "thick skinned" as he said, or just not accept some of the gigs
that come your way. Boy, it was interesting to see that all of the things the
others have mentioned have happened to us too. (The too loud part is
particularly a pain).

 Someone mentioned Del Courtney, the band leader in San Francisco "back in
the day."   One of the Greek churches was having a really big fundraiser dance;
black tie and everything more than 500 people; THREE bands: They had my
group for the Greek; Del Courtney for the older types; Fogerty (from Creedence
Clearwater) with Miss California as well, and his Rock type group for the younger
audience. It made me sick to see the wife of one of the men in charge go up
to Fogerty, while he was singing on stage, and pull his trouser cuff and keep
telling him he was too loud!!!! He was a gentleman and just ignored her!
Thank God she left us alone!
LOL
What an interesting "art" or "profession" music is!
Best,
John
