Dear Mike,
Close, but no cigar!
"Honolulu Baby", performed in the film by Ty Parvis (and later by Ollie),
was composed by Marvin Hatley (also known as T. Marvin Hatley).
The following (edited) bio courtesy of the IMDB.
>Marvin Hatley (1905-1986) composer, conductor and author, educated at UCLA was
a staff pianist for KFWB in Hollywood for four years, then to vaudeville for one
year, then to KFUD. Two years after joining the Hal Roach Studios, he took over
its music department, which he directed for ten years. Joined ASCAP in 1952. His
most-popular composition is the Laurel and Hardy 'Cuckoo Song' theme, which he
always spelled "Ku-Ku".<
There were also uncredited songs in the film by William Axt, George M.
Cohan, Paul Marquardt, O'Donnell-Heath and Leroy Shield.
Frank Terry (as Frank Craven) wrote the 'theme' song "Sons of the Desert".
Kind regards,
Bill.

And as a bonus. Ta-da!:
"Honolulu Baby"
By T. Marvin Hatley

While down on a South Sea island,
Underneath the beauty of the stars,
I strayed upon some maidens,
Who were strumming on their guitars.
A hula maid was dancing,
And she knew I'd found my paradise.
So this is what I told her,
As I gazed into her eyes:

Honolulu baby, where'd you get those eyes?
And that dark complexion, I just idolize?
Honolulu baby, where'd you get that style?
And the pretty red lips, and that sunny smile?
When you start to dance, your hula hips entrance,
When you shake it up and down.
You shake a little here, you shake a little there,
Well you got the boys going to town.
Honolulu baby, sure know your stuff.
Honolulu baby, gonna call your bluff.
