A very busy weekend around these parts - among all sorts of Jazz
Society meetings, Fleet Week, Columbus Day Parade and much more, this
Sunday (10/9) is the 17th annual Placerville Hangtown Jazz Jubilee
http://hangtownjazzjubilee.com/
One nice thing about this year - the bands stay at one location and the
audience moves! (it used to be a really tricky event, moving bands all
over town in just 45 minutes between sets - I hope this idea works out
better.)
It has always been a very good small town festival - the town locals
really get into the event and it is close enough to the Sacramento and
Bay Areas to draw. They still have not quite gotten the knack of
generating publicity outside of the local area...
