Our Latest Upcoming Dates: December 1st and 4th.
On Thursday, Dec. 1st, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM, we¹ll be marching along
Oakland¹s Telegraph Avenue, between 46th and 51st Streets, for the Temescal
Holiday Open House, a big FREE block party thrown by the Temescal Telegraph
Community Association. Strolling Carolers and other musicians are also
entertaining at this event. Our ³Green Room² will be at the Temescal Cafe,

On Sunday, December 4th, the Toy Soldiers will march around Montgomery
Village Mall, 911 Village Court in Santa Rosa, from 1:00 to 3:00PM. It¹s
located at the corner of Farmers Lane & Sonoma Avenue. From US101, take the
Hwy 12 East exit and where the freeway ends, turn left onto Farmers Lane. Go
north a few blocks and Montgomery Village will be on your right as you

PERFORMING WITH ART¹S FABULOUS FLUGELHORNS on Sat. Dec. 3rd:
The Fabulous Four Flugelhorns of Art Juarez will be performing, and I¹m one
of them! We¹re part of a Holiday party at Ardenwood Historic Farm in Newark,
free to the public, from11:00 AM to 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 3rd. For

FIRST TUESDAY SWING DANCE in ALAMEDA on December 6th:
Come and dance to the swing hits of the 1930s -1950s (plus waltzes, rhumbas,
etc.) as played by Dave¹s Swingtime Big Band, featuring our new vocalist
Judy Ferrari.
Only a $5 donation gets you over 2 hours of dancing to great live music
every first Tuesday of the month, starting at 8:00 p.m.
It happens at Temple Israel, 3183 Mecartney Road, Alameda - located in the
Harbor Bay Landing Shopping Center on Bay Farm Isle. Directions: From I-880,
take High Street into Alameda. At the 5th stoplight turn Left onto Otis
Drive. The right lane takes you across the bridge into Bay Farm Isle; then
take the right fork onto Island Drive. After passing one stoplight, turn
Right on Mecartney (at the Stop Sign), then Right into the shopping center
(at the Union 76). Take the 1st Left (before reaching Long¹s) and the
parking lot ends at Temple Israel.

BRASSWORKS QUINTET at STANFORD EARLY CHRISTMAS LITURGY, Dec. 10th
All are welcome to attend Stanford Catholic Community¹s Early Christmas
Liturgy, beginning at 11:00PM on Saturday, December 4th at Stanford Memorial
Church. Come and enjoy the atmosphere of a Christmas Eve Midnight Mass with
plenty of beautiful music performed by the Stanford Choir, Instrumental
Ensemble and the Brassworks Quintet, under the direction of Theresa Pleins.
Admission is free; donations of any amount are appreciated. For more info on

YE GASKELLS VICTORIAN HOLIDAY BALL: Saturday, December 17th
Dress up and dance until Midnight at the Victorian Holiday Ball, hosted by
Ye Gaskells Occasional Dance Society. It¹s at Oakland¹s Scottish Rite
Center, 1547 Lakeside Drive. (Back parking lot is on Madison Sreet.) The
Brassworks plays 8:30pm-12:00. Elegant Victorian period attire as well as
modern formal & semi-formal attire are welcome. Gaskells favorites include
waltzes, polkas, mazurkas, schottisches, Sir Roger de Coverley and The
Congress of Vienna.
$20 Admission includes a complimentary dance lesson at 7:40, free punch &
potluck fingerfood. (Do bring some to share!) Also, for those desiring it, a
Dance Class is offered in the same ballroom, from 3:45 to 6:15 p.m., for a
separate $10 admission.

CHRISTMAS EVE at FIRST CONGREGATIONAL of BERKELEY:
Come celebrate Christmas with Gabriel¹s Trumpet Trio, Organist/Music
Director Larry Marietta, the Choir and Congregation of First Congregational
Church of Berkeley. We will be performing for one Service on Christmas Eve,
Friday, December 24th, which commences at 10:00 p.m. At 9:30 we will present
a Prelude Concert featuring Gabriel¹s Trio and Organist Larry Marietta. FCCB
is located at the corner of Dana and Channing Streets, close to the U.C.
Berkeley campus. Admission is free, and a freewill offering will be taken.

NEW YEAR¹S EVE CINDERELLA WALTZ BALL with THE BRASSWORKS BAND:
Friday Night Waltz will be presenting The Brassworks at their fourth annual
New Year¹s Eve Ball on December 31st. It takes place in the beautiful
Chevron Ballroom at International House, 2299 Piedmont Ave. at Bancroft on
the UC Berkeley campus. Formal dress is admired but not required.
Admission is still very inexpensive: $20 per person early bird rate (now
thru Dec. 24), then $25 prepay thru Dec. 30, and $30 at the door. Prepay
via PayPal, check, or in person at upcoming FNW events. Advance ticket

Refreshments, New Year's Eve Toast & Midnight Sing Along. This is a
