[Dixielandjazz] Phonograph needles

I did some research on this last year, after a local dealer could not get a
needle I needed for my cartridge.

Since the cartridge manufacturer was still in business, (Shure), I thought
it might be a good time to upgrade my cartridge if I couldn't get a needle
for my circa 1979 turntable. I looked them up on the web, and saw that they
still sold needles for their cartridges. Granted, a lot of models have
probably slipped off the list, but mine was still on the list. A phone call
to the number listed on the web had the needle I needed in my hands in just
a couple days. Why it took the local dealer months to get a "knock-off"
needle that didn't fit, then tell me he couldn't get the factory
original...no idea.
