Hi, Listees, Larry W. wrote 110 volts @ 1 amp equal 1000 watts. Au Contraire - 110 volts @ 1 amp = 110 watts. Otherwise, Power equals current times voltage. Current equals voltage E(electromotive force) divided by Current I. Or to determine the amount of current (amps) a device requires, look at the power rating and divide by the operating voltage I = Power/Voltage. You can also determine any of the other parameters if you know the resistance (impedance) of the device by the formula P = current squared times the resistance. I think Larry may have just misplaced that elusive decimal point.
