hi dave, hi dan, hi all,
i know the book you're telling about. it has been published in 1976 and,
even if they have in catalogue, i tried some years ago to buy it and the
answer was the same: "out of stock".
BUT,
mr. tarto wrote two other books:
"modern method for improvising for tuba and double bass for the dance orchestra"
16 pp. .75c
1926 !!!!
and
"bass noodles: modulation breaks and hot choruses for tuba  ...", Alfred
and co., 33 pp., $1.00
1929 !!!

i have xerox of the first two books (is it legal?) but nothing about the
third. some years ago one appeared on ebay but i stopped
bidding around $50 (i think it was too much) and then asked the winner to
have a xerox copy, no answer.
so, it exists, but where?
