I second the motion about Dave's  post.    I am in the same town as
Dave and can verify that he is one of the good guys!

I play in a Community Concert band that does an annual Christmas
concert at a local children's hospital. (Egleston Dave)  These are the
sickest kids with such as Cancer etc.  Frequently they are hooked up
to all sorts of tubes etc like the ones Dave mentioned.    It has
never failed to be our favorite concert of the year.   We usually have
a kid "lead" the band,  and sometimes we do "Twas the Night Before
Christmas"  with yours truly doubling on narration.

As you might guess, our pay is the joy and feedback we get from those
brave kids, but I have never played a more rewarding gig.
