The Silver Dollar Jazz Band first formed in Sacramento in 1955. Later
editions formed in the 1960's and they reunited in 2001. The band plays
in the style of the great West Coast Revival bands such as Lu Watters,
Turk Murphy and Bay City. They combine interesting ditties from the
1920's and 1930's with the two-beat rhythm. Each performance is a
showcase that combines great music with good humor. Watch them switch
instruments to come up with unusual jazz combos within the band.
Today's band includes:
Burt Wilson on Trombone
Reynard Perry on Trumpet
Bob Newman on Reeds
"Sugar" Willie Erickson on Piano
John Robinson on Banjo
Jim Snoke on Tuba
Jill Johnson Harper on Vocals
Spacious Dance Floor. The lodge has Food and a Full Bar.
One month later, NVDJS will feature Cats n'Jammer Jazz Band on Sunday,
May 8, 2005 from 1-5 PM at the same location.
