That's right Mike....the only time a real good thread gets started is wnen 
someone says something "controversial" .  Nice things are like good 
news...no one is really interested.
     It's easy to start a controversial thread.  Just say you really don't 
like something.  You are bound to get responses from both sides.
the thing about Bechet's vibrato was a good one....I hated it, too.
   Re: Festival sound men:
        A few of the large multi-venue festivals use volunteers for 
soundmen.  Most of them don't have a clue.  It's an economy move for the 
festival, at the cost of what the badge buyers came to hear. Smaller 
festivals usually fare better.  The Pensacola festival is a small single 
venue
festival that always has great sound and pro sound people.  The use of the 
sound equipment and the personnel is contributed by the local radio station. 
The sound personnel are all pros and the sound is always great!
