IMO "(polite snip)" means that the person who did the snipping has taken
care not to quote a part of a communication out of context in order to make
a point that if the entire context of the post were printed, would not be
accurate.

Sometimes people take a sentence  out of a post, fixating on that sentence
when it was just a minor modifier of the entire post and make their point as
if that sentence stood alone as the main point.

Here, in this "polite snip", your sentence does stand alone and so this
response does not unfairly modify the rest of your post.
