[Dixielandjazz] Django

Which reminds me of a quip from Flip Phillips that I heard several years ago
at the Elkhart Jazz Festival.  He was introducing Nuages and said the
following about Django:  "He was a Gypsy who only had three fingers.  He
only stole bowling balls."

True-a lot of imitators. But they have all their fingers-Django didn't! His

recordings never cease to amaze me. Wonder what Eddie Condon thought of him-
