[Dixielandjazz] Players Passing Out

Charlie Hooks posted an interesting article in which was mentioned that
players sometime pass out. Especially trumpet players.

That "back pressure" will get you every time. :-) VBG

Passing out occurs among other instrumentalists also. Sometimes because of
alcohol and sometimes . . . because of smoking a joint  earlier, which I
think, lowers one's blood pressure causing the smoker to faint.

So too, did heroin cause nodding off in the old days when many musicians
experimented with it. No doubt, Charlie, like many of us, can relate some
funny stories about waking guys up in the middle of a number.

How did we manage to survive, Charlie?
