Gee you don't think these rocker kids learned how to get used like this
from their parents or grandparents in OKOM do you,:))
This is what happens to the business when everyone just goes along with
"That's the way it's Done" That's our budget play for it or we have a
long list of others who will. Like the kid says they don't Give a
S..T about the quality of the music and or who is good and professional
or not.
Many of them are trying to play the same bars and clubs YOU GUYS PLAYED
THIRTY/forty YEARS AGO, they just have different owners and names
these days same jerks own them or their kids own them and treat the
young bands the same way their Daddy's treated you because you never
spoke up and took control of the music business way back in the Good
old Days. And the union you joined simply ignored all of them because
when they sent anybody out there the club owner sent cousin Guido to
take care of the Union and they of course backed down.
Cheers,
Tom Wiggins
I was reading posts of musicians being hateful towards bands. I think
you
all suck, when you hear a tune on the radio or see a music video, your
nothing
but dung on broken *&^%! Thank gawd bands step over the crap that
tries to
hold them down, and discourages them.
Some bands make it, others bitch about the ones that do.
Im new to the bay area from Europe, Im disgusted by haters in the
music community here! Try living in a society that prohibits what you
play and say.
Ok, I think we all agree that the promoters for the most part, suck.
They don't give a s..t about the music, they only care about is seeing
their name in the papers and how much money they take...I mean make. I,
personally have been screwed over by Lormie (Once) and have known for a
long time now, not to deal with Savage. BUT........
The bigger issue is really the TERRIBLE BANDS that they hire. It's
simple really, anyone who has been around awhile, and is any good
(really tight) will only accept a gig that pays decent. (Hey, we're a
business too!) Those who suck, will accept anything and will play for
free or pay to play. This is KILLING OUR Business!!
The audiences ARE craving good bands.....but unfortunately these
"businesses" don't give a rat's ass to what the people want. We need to
speak up!!
STOP USING TERRIBLE BANDS FOR YOUR SHOWS!!! HIRE PROFESSIONAL BANDS
WHO PROMOTE AND HAVE FANS!! GUARANTEE/PAY THESE GOOD BANDS $$$
